In 2023, she moved to Canada to support her sons’ education in Toronto and began the process of earning her dental equivalency through the National Dental Examining Board (NDEB). She successfully passed the first exam, the Assessment of Fundamental Knowledge (AFK).
Committed to expanding her expertise, Farinaz earned Canadian certifications in dental assisting in 2024, including a HARP Certification in Dental Radiography from George Brown College and a Certificate in Radiographic Imaging from Columbia College. She is now a certified Level 2 dental assistant and a proud member of the Ontario Dental Assistants Association (ODAA).
With a deep passion for pediatric dentistry, Farinaz finds joy in working with children and creating positive dental experiences for them. Fluent in English and Farsi, she also enjoys reading, writing, Pilates, and traveling with her husband and three sons.
VOLCAN – Dental Assistant
Volcan recently immigrated to Canada from Afghanistan. She is a graduate of the Faculty of Stomatology in Kabul, class of 2021, and has also completed a Dental Radiography certificate course at Willis College in Ottawa. With extensive experience in the dental field, she plays a vital role in ensuring every patient receives the highest standard of care during their visit.
Volcan exudes warmth and kindness, creating a welcoming atmosphere for patients of all ages. From the moment you step into our clinic, she is dedicated to ensuring your experience is positive and comfortable. Patients appreciate her ability to address concerns and provide unwavering support throughout their dental journey.
Outside of dentistry, Volcan enjoys cycling around Ottawa and discovering new spots for delicious food. She also makes time to read books before bed, a routine she never misses.
AMIR – DENTAL ADMINISTRATOR
Amir, originally from Iran, earned his doctorate in dentistry from Urmia University of Medical Sciences in 2019. With years of experience managing two successful dental clinics, he has a proven commitment to excellence in patient care.
Fluent in five languages—English, Persian, Turkish, Azeri, and conversational Dutch—Amir brings a multicultural perspective to Little Lion Dental Clinic, ensuring clear communication and a welcoming experience for all patients.
Now based in Canada, Amir is expanding his expertise as a Dental Administrator, combining his clinical knowledge with strong administrative skills to enhance patient care services.
Outside of work, Amir is passionate about swimming and volleyball, maintaining a balanced and energetic lifestyle.
JESSECA – OFFICE MANAGER
Passionate about providing exceptional care to the community, Jesseca’s primary goal is to ensure every patient feels comfortable while achieving optimal dental health. Resourceful and dedicated, she is a versatile team member, working seamlessly in both clinical and administrative roles. Fully bilingual, Jesseca is happy to assist patients in both English and French.
With extensive experience in customer service, Jesseca consistently demonstrates her dedication to providing exceptional patient care. She has been working closely with Dr. Karami since June 2022 and has since taken on a more prominent role in management at Little Lion Dental Clinic and ChillDental (General Anesthesia Facility).
Outside of work, Jesseca enjoys hot yoga, swimming, cooking, DIY projects, and is passionate about traveling and spending quality time with her husband.
